Dr Rose Lerer Cohen has been carrying out family research since 1995 and established Kin-search in 2007 beginning her career as a professional genealogy researcher.
With almost three decades of experience, she implements her knowledge into the many facets of genealogy.
She specializes in research in Eastern and Western Europe, South Africa and Israel.
She carries out Holocaust research and unites families. Builds family trees, locating new relatives and making connections. She carries out archival research for both genealogical and historical purposes. She enables you to leverage your history for a second passport.
Dr Lerer Cohen has been involved in a number of interesting projects. She co-founded the Lithuanian Names Project which resulted in the publishing of The Holocaust in Lithuania 1941-1945 (Gefen, 2002). The Lithuanian Names Project is a partner in the creation of the Central Database of Shoah Victims’ names at Yad Vashem.
She graduated from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem Oral History Course and has experience in interviewing, formulating questionnaires and recording family histories. She coordinated the - Slave Labour Interviewing Project in Lithuania and South Africa under the auspices of the University of Hagen, Germany. She founded the South African Oral History project, an ongoing project which records the histories of South African immigrants to Israel. She will interview members of your family, record your family history, carry out research and will assist you with writing your family history.
Her PhD, titled Resilience and Achievement: The Case of Lithuanian Child Holocaust Survivors, focuses particularly on Lithuanian Holocaust survivors. She has a vast knowledge of the Holocaust in Lithuania. She has written and lectured extensively on many aspects of genealogy and family research and history.
